FPV Lap Timer

Your laps are your business.

Effective date: July 9, 2026

FPV Lap Timer works entirely on your device. We don't require an account, we don't collect your personal information, we don't show ads, and we don't use analytics or tracking SDKs. The only third party involved is our purchase-processing provider, and it never sees your name or payment details.

Who we are

FPV Lap Timer (“the app”) is an iOS application published by Baby Squid Studios (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, where it lives, and the choices you have. It applies to the app and to this website.

Data we do not collect

The app has no user accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect, store, or transmit your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, videos, audio, race data, or any identifiers about you or your device. We do not run advertising, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics, and we do not track you across apps or websites.

Data that stays on your device

Everything the app creates is stored locally on your phone and never sent to us:

  • Race sessions, laps, splits, and timing analytics
  • Ghost runs, including any audio recorded with them
  • Screen recordings of your races
  • Your drone fleet, including specs and photos you attach
  • Track definitions and app preferences

Deleting the app deletes this data. Recordings or photos you explicitly save to your photo library remain there under your control.

Camera, microphone, and photo library

The app asks for three iOS permissions, each for a single visible purpose:

  • Camera — to detect lap crossings. Frames are analyzed in real time on your device and are immediately discarded; they are never stored or transmitted unless you deliberately record a session.
  • Microphone — only when you record your screen during a race or capture a ghost run with audio. Recordings are stored on your device.
  • Photo library — only so you can attach a photo to a drone in your fleet.

You can decline or revoke any of these in iOS Settings at any time; the camera permission is the only one the core lap-timing feature needs.

Purchases

Premium features are sold as in-app purchases processed by Apple. We never receive your name, billing address, or payment details. To validate purchases and restore them across reinstalls, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives a random, app-generated identifier and your purchase history for this app — not your identity — and processes it on our behalf to keep your Premium access working. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details on their handling of this data.

This website

This website is a static informational site. It does not set cookies, run analytics, or collect personal information. If you email support, we receive what you send us and use it only to help you; we don't add you to mailing lists.

Data retention

We have nothing to retain: data the app creates lives on your device for as long as you keep it, and is gone when you delete it or delete the app. Purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained according to their own policies for as long as needed to honor your purchases (for example, restoring Premium on a new phone). Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your question.

Legal bases and international users

The app works the same everywhere, and no personal data crosses borders because none is collected. Where a legal basis is required (for example, under the GDPR) for the limited processing that does occur: purchase validation is processing necessary to perform our contract with you, and responding to your support email is processing based on our legitimate interest in helping you (or your consent, since you contacted us).

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included. If you believe a child has provided us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights and choices

Because your data lives on your device, you are in direct control of it: view it in the app, delete it in the app, or remove it entirely by deleting the app. For purchase data held by RevenueCat, or for any privacy question or request (including deletion requests under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws), email us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change — for example, if a future feature syncs data off-device — we will update this policy, change the effective date above, and call out the change in the app before it applies to you.
